This Privacy Statement is effective as of 10/01/2020.

At Wheel it Forward we recognize the importance of protecting your personal information and are committed to processing it responsibly and in compliance with applicable data protection laws in places where Wheel it Forward operates.

Why and how we collect and use your personal information.

We may collect your personal information for various purposes such as the following:

  • Donations

Wheel it Forward collects information such as your name, e-mail address, mailing address, and phone number provided by you in connection with your donation(s). 

If you initiate a donation through the Wheel it Forward Website, your credit card number and expiration date will also be submitted to us online. Wheel it Forward uses Paypal as a third-party intermediary to process your online donations and payments. 

Your personal information or credit card information is never shared with third parties other than the payment processor and an employee of Wheel it Forward to refund and/or confirm donations were processed (via online or offline). Your credit card information may be stored for verification purposes, for processing recurring donations that you have authorized, and for processing refunds, if applicable.

  • Lending Library, Volunteer, or Get Involved Form

When you fill out a join lending library, volunteer, get involved, or event participation form, Wheel it Forward collects information provided by you, such as name, e-mail address, mailing address, and phone number to register you in our systems and identify you when you participate in an event or group or borrow durable medical equipment through our lending library.

  • Retention of Information

Wheel it Forward may store information we collect about you indefinitely, but information generally will be retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which the information was collected, or as otherwise required by law.

Information Security and Accuracy

We intend to protect your personal information and to maintain its accuracy. Wheel it Forward implements organizational safeguards to help us protect your personal information from unauthorized access and disclosure. We also require that our payment processors protect your information. For example, the payment processors may encrypt credit card information when the information is transmitted via the Internet. 

Opting-Out of Communications from Wheel it Forward

You may opt-out of receiving communications from Wheel it Forward by following the unsubscribe process described in an email communication, or by contacting Wheel it Forward in accordance with the “How to contact us” section below.

Children’s Privacy

Wheel it Forward’s website is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under the age of 13 years. Wheel it Forward’s website does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without parental consent, we will take steps to remove such information.
